Gallon Per Minute Conversion
Gallon per minute is the volume of liquid that flows in a unit of time. A garden hose’s GPM typically falls between 9 and 17 gallons per minute, depending on the hose’s length and water pressure. GPM is also commonly known as gallons per hour (GPH). This article provides an overview of GPM, and explains how to convert it to LPM and GPH.
To calculate GPM, simply use the formula 60 divided by the number of seconds it takes to fill a one gallon container. To get an even more accurate measurement, you should try to measure it three or four times and average the results.
You can also use our GPM calculator to convert GPM to liters per minute. You’ll find the converter in the last field of the tool. Simply enter the desired value and click “Convert”.
What is the difference between PSI and GPM?
PSI, or pounds per square inch, is a unit of pressure. GPM, on the other hand, is a unit of flow rate. Both are important to understand when using a water pressure gauge or measuring the flow rate of a pipe, but they are not the same.
GPM is measured in US gallons, and one US gallon is equal to 3.78541 liters. Other units in the category of Volume Flow Rate include Acre Foot Per Month (aft/month), Barrel (US, Petrol) Per Day (bbl(US, petrol)/day), Cubic Centimeter Per Second (cm3/s), Cubic Foot Per Minute (cfm, ft3/min), Cubic Inch Per Second (in3/min), Cubic Meter Per Minute (m3/min), Liter Per Minute (l/min), Millisecond, Miner’S Inch, and Lusec. gallons per minute to litres per minute
